11:30 am -- James loads the boys up for a trip to the store for food for Wednesday night dinner at church.
11:32 am -- James realizes that his car won't start.
11:35 am -- The whole family piles in the minivan for the trip.
11:50 am -- Mommy nurses Anna Grace in the back of the van while reading books to the boys while Daddy shops.
12:45 pm -- Daddy and the boys all pile out of the van at church with all of the food.
1:05 pm -- Mommy and Anna Grace start our wait of the health department.
1:40 pm -- Anna Grace gets three shots and the rotavirus vaccine. The information sheet says that "mild vomiting" may be a side effect of the rotavirus vaccine. Great.
1:50 pm -- Mommy and Anna Grace stop to another store to get one last ingredient for dinner.
2:30 pm -- Both boys are now finally asleep at church and Anna Grace falls asleep in her car seat.
2:40 pm -- Anna Grace wakes up when the carseat is moved from the car to church. She vomits. Great.
3:30 pm -- Anna Grace refuses to go back to sleep. Mommy nurses her even though she shouldn't really be hungry. She vomits. Great.
4:00 pm -- All kids finally asleep...for now. Naps and dinner prep go well.
5:45 pm -- Anna Grace wakes and refuses to nurse. She takes a bottle. She vomits while reclined and it all runs down the back of her outfit. Great. She's naked for the church dinner (which went great -- seriously).
8:15 pm -- David crashes a toy car into a metal table leg simultaneously creating a large goose egg and scratch on his forehead, getting a bloody nose, and busting his lip. While Mommy is mopping up blood and comforting him, Anna Grace vomits. Great. A storm rolls in.
8:45 pm -- While loading kids into the van in the pouring rain, lightening strikes the telephone pole 100 feet from James carrying David to the van. It hails on the van on the way home.
9:00 pm -- We arrive home and there's no power. Daddy attempts to put the boys to bed by candlelight and Mommy takes Anna Grace out of her carseat and feels the vomit all over her. Great. Anna Grace gets a baby wipe bath by candlelight and is put to bed.
9:30 pm -- Because of the blessing of a very quiet house (no power means no sound machines and no computer or TV) Mommy and Daddy thankfully hear Anna Grace choking on her vomit in the crib. Great. Fortunately we had the foresight to layer burpcloths under her head, so after we were convinced that she was going to continue breathing on her own, we didn't have to change the sheets in the crib. Mommy decides to sleep in Anna Grace's room.
10:30 pm -- Before going to bed, Mommy and Daddy gently wake David to check that he can regain consciousness. We finally could get him aware enough to say, "Hello. Mommy." "Hello, sweetheart, now go back to sleep."
11:00 pm -- Mommy finally relaxed enough to sleep.
11:57 pm -- Anna Grace has a nightmare, waking Mommy. Power still off.
12:08 am -- Anna Grace fusses again, waking Mommy. Power on.
2:15 am -- Hunter vomits repeatedly in the master bedroom, waking James.
7:59 am -- Mommy starts to put Anna Grace in her car seat and sees what she couldn't see last night in the dark -- a massive pile of vomit that has soaked half of the car seat. Great. How did we sleep through that smell???
10:00 am -- Mommy finds about a cup of vomit pooled in the carseat base still in the van. Great. Mommy sure is glad that she didn't know about the extent of the vomiting last night.
Phew!
We are all well today. Anna Grace is a little fussy and David seems normal, although we had another storm come through during naptime so neither boy had a nap today. Should be another fun evening.
